Lighthouse Supply Chain is a small-scale dairy operation in Choma, Zambia, undergoing a transformative upgrade to become a modern, sustainable, and profitable enterprise. Facing challenges due to herd reduction, the farm is implementing a three-pronged strategy. By December 2025, the herd will be upgraded to 20 purebred Friesian milkers to maximize milk production and quality. Zero-grazing practices will be adopted by May 2025, improving herd health and resource efficiency. Finally, a milk collection center will be established by December 2025, enabling the farm to consolidate milk from neighboring farms and access higher-value direct sales to processors. This integrated approach will enhance profitability, establish the farm as a regional leader, and contribute to the local dairy industry's growth.
