Leadership Initiative for Development Organization (LIDO) is a National NGO registered in South Sudan under the NGO act of 2018. LIDO has been working with South Sudan communities, to strengthen agriculture, food security and supply chains for vulnerable communities in South Sudan, with a focus on seed security and sustainable production. Smallholder farmers face droughts, floods, and erratic rainfall, alongside limited access to quality seeds, and markets resulting in low productivity, high losses, and food insecurity. LIDO delivers an integrated approach combining climate-smart advisory (weather updates and farming guidance), community-managed seed banks (ensuring access to resilient seeds), and market linkages, pricing, and logistics support. This holistic model secures inputs, strengthens production, and improves market access, enabling farmers to increase yields, reduce losses.
