John Wabwire Shikuku is a passionate social entrepreneur, environmental scientist, and community health promoter with a strong track record of grassroots leadership in climate action, youth empowerment, and digital inclusion. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Bunyala Agr Climate Action, a community-based organization in Western Kenya that promotes climate-smart agriculture, cassava value chain development, and agroforestry to build resilience among smallholder farmers and rural youth.

With over five years of experience working at the intersection of agriculture, health, and technology, John leads initiatives that integrate sustainable livelihoods with digital skills training, advocacy, and environmental conservation. As a trained Community Health Worker (CHW) advocate and HIV peer champion, he also works to improve access to community health services, mental health support, and sexual reproductive health rights for adolescents.

John is an active contributor to regional and international development platforms, including Africa Frontline First Catalytic Fund (AFF-CF), Catalyst 2030, and Ashoka Changemakers, where he shares insights on building resilient local systems through community-driven solutions.

A natural mentor and grassroots mobilizer, John is committed to empowering young changemakers, women-led enterprises, and AgriSMEs through digital transformation, inclusive innovation, and sustainable development.
