Melkam Farms is a climate-smart agribusiness in Ethiopia advancing regenerative agriculture and smallholder farmer inclusion. Located 100 km from Addis Ababa, our 13-hectare model farm integrates seasonal vegetables and perennial crops like avocado, using agroecological practices and efficient drip irrigation. We operate a “nucleus farm” model, supporting a growing network of smallholder farmers with high-quality seedlings, technical support, and contract farming agreements. Through partnerships, cold chain logistics, and export readiness, we bridge local production with high-value markets. Melkam Farms also pilots digital farm management tools and aims to improve soil health, boost farmer income, and enhance food system resilience. Our work positions us as a scalable, impact-driven solution to Ethiopia’s agricultural and climate challenges.
