Wella Uganda Limited (WUL) is a legally registered limited liability company located in Busukuma Sub- County, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, approximately 3 kilometres off the Gayaza–Zirobwe Road. Established in 2011 as a supplier of agricultural produce, the company expanded into cassava processing in 2019 in response to increasing post-harvest losses and growing market demand for value-added cassava products. Uganda experiences post-harvest cassava losses estimated at between 35% and 60%, mainly due to poor harvesting, drying, and storage practices. WUL addresses these challenges through farmer training, improved processing techniques, quality assurance, and market-oriented production systems that help reduce losses and improve farmer incomes. WUL’s core purpose is to create market linkages by processing raw cassava tubers into high-quality value-added products for sale and consumption while creating employment opportunities, supporting smallholder farmers, reducing waste, and promoting sustainable economic development.
