About Company

KOABA-COOPERATIVE OF SELLERS OF FISH in Rubavu District was created in 2017 by a group of 28 women, former hawkers of small fish (isambaza) locally know as ABAZUNGUZAYI. The cooperative obtained its official registration certificate Number No RCA/0395/2017 of 03/08/2017. The cooperative has its head quarter at Rushagara village, Rubona cell, Nyamyumba sector in Rubavu district where they opened a fish selling point near the BRALIRWA Brewery, a place commonly known as KURI BRASSERIE. KOABA ’s mission is to promote the development and welfare of its members who are mainly farmers, hence improve their livelihood. KOABA is aiming at improving the livelihood of its members women fishers but also promoting the protection of lake Kivu. KOABA has very recently embarked with the promotion of bamboo wood materials and expand its business going forward.
