Nthiti Mega Farm LTD is an Agribusiness Venture established to take advantage of government policy to accelerated economic development through the establishment of commercial farming on a substantial scale in Malawi. It will exploit the newly found status of the Agri Sector as the new “ICT” global craze. The government has set up a Mega Farm Unit within the Ministry of Agriculture to own and drive this initiative. Support comes in the form of funding, Farm implements and marketing, among others. Nthiti Mega Farm Phase 1 intends to deploy 25 hectares of prime Agricultural land located in Kwenengwe, Bvumbwe. This arable land also has a river running along its Western border to facilitate irrigable farming. The land is sub-leased by the owner to the JV company (of which the land owner is also a shareholder) on a long-term basis to facilitate the conduct of agribusiness.
