Kelvin Odoobo is a food-systems leader, agribusiness professional, and founder of Shambapro, with two decades of experience working across Africa’s agriculture and food systems. His work spans agricultural technology, agribusiness development, market systems, climate resilience, institutional capacity building, and private-sector development across Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan, Malawi, and Zambia. 

Through Shambapro, Kelvin is building farmer-owned digital infrastructure that helps farm business owners strengthen record-keeping, improve productivity, manage their finances, and increase their readiness to access markets and agricultural finance. He also advises organizations and leaders on navigating Africa’s complex food systems and designing interventions that move beyond isolated agricultural projects towards more coordinated, inclusive, and resilient systems. 

Kelvin is a Fellow of the African Food Fellowship and a delegate of the Centre for African Leaders in Agriculture. His leadership and work have been recognized through the Africa Food Fellowship Spirit Award and the Global Impact Challenge Prize. 

He has published Understanding Africa’s Food Systems, a 17-part educational series on LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok, exploring how markets, institutions, infrastructure, policy, and power shape food-system outcomes across the continent. 

Kelvin is also the author of From Agriculture to Food Systems: A Practical Introduction to Food Systems Thinking for Africa’s Agriculture Professionals. Drawing on lessons from two decades of practical experience, the book helps agriculture professionals look beyond farms, production, and isolated projects; understand the wider systems shaping their work; and apply systems thinking to make better decisions and achieve more lasting impact.
