Founder, Youth Agro-Marine Development Association
Nur Mohamed Abdi is an agricultural science professional from Somalia with a master’s degree in Agricultural Science. He is the Founder and Manager of the Youth Agro Marine Development Association (YAMDA), a community-based organization focused on strengthening rural livelihoods and promoting sustainable development.
He works to mobilize rural agricultural and coastal communities by providing training in modern farming, fishing, and beekeeping practices to help combat hunger and food insecurity. Through YAMDA, he has led numerous capacity-building and skills development initiatives for rural youth and coastal communities across Somalia.
Nur also promotes awareness of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) among young men and women aged 18–35, supporting them in developing sustainable agricultural projects and improving long-term economic opportunities.
