Ruot is the Co-Founder and Project Lead of Gezira Young People Agribusiness Trust Co. Ltd. (GYPAT). This social enterprise creates markets for fresh produce from smallholder farmers and links farmers with final consumers. It empowers youth and women in rural communities by providing entrepreneurship and technology training in South Sudan. 

Ruot has five years of experience in both nonprofit organizations and profit-making entities. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Entrepreneurship) from Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics from the University of Juba. In addition to the above roles, Ruot has worked with Africa Development Aid and the Foundation for Youth Initiative (FYI) as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. 

Ruot also volunteered as the Chairperson of the Fangak Community Association in Nairobi, Kenya. This community-based nonprofit organization coordinates with relevant Kenyan authorities to oversee the social welfare of South Sudanese refugees. 

Mr. Ruot Kedok is a passionate, curious, and budding young entrepreneur who wants to "nurture, develop, and transform" society through agriculture to achieve food security for communities. He is excited to use the skills gained from his previous work experience to create jobs for South Sudanese youth and women. This will help them become self-reliant, support food security in their local communities, and connect smallholder farmers to markets, thereby increasing their incomes and enabling them to support their families. He strongly believes that without a quality, inclusive, and equitable food system for all, achieving the rest of the Sustainable Development Goals will remain nothing more than a distant dream.
