Founder, Kwanza Cocoa
Wezi Mzumara is a Malawian entrepreneur, communications strategist, and agribusiness leader committed to advancing sustainable African food systems through innovation, value addition, and brand development. She is the Founder and Director of Kwanza Cocoa, one of Malawi's pioneering bean-to-bar craft chocolate companies, transforming locally grown cocoa into premium chocolate while creating market opportunities for smallholder farmers.
With over 12 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, and event management across Africa and the United Kingdom, Wezi is also the Founder of Kwanza PR and Co-Founder of the award-winning Mzuzu Fashion Week. Her diverse professional background has shaped her expertise in building impactful brands and driving creative entrepreneurship.
In 2020, Wezi transitioned fully into agribusiness, combining her branding expertise with a passion for agriculture to strengthen Malawi's cocoa value chain through local processing, product innovation, and sustainable market development.
A 2024 Fellow of the Leading African Women in Food Fellowship (LAWFF), Wezi now serves as LAWFF Regional Coordinator at African Food Changemakers, where she fosters leadership, collaboration, and innovation among women transforming Africa's food systems. She is a passionate advocate for agribusiness, entrepreneurship, women's leadership, and building globally competitive African brands.
